The JCC is pleased to announce that the Department of Economic Development’s (“DED”) Head of Corporate Financial Services, John Garland, will be speaking at their next breakfast event on Tuesday 17th November at The Palace Hotel.
The Enterprise Development Scheme, which was first proposed earlier in the year, is a new incentive scheme for Isle of Man businesses as part of a wide range of measures to encourage inward investment and job creation on the Island over a five year period. On Wednesday 21 October, the proposed ?50 million Enterprise Development Scheme was approved by Tynwald.
During the event, John will discuss the new Scheme, talk about how and why it is structured as it has been and also how it fits into the wider DED strategy. He will specifically focus on the loan and equity elements of the Enterprise Development Scheme. We hope that our members and guests will find this an interesting topic and welcome questions from the audience. This follows a recent talk that the DED’s Director of Financial Services John Spellman gave at a previous presentation to JCC members about the Isle of Man’s vision for 2020.
“As an association we have a keen interest in this topic,” said Rachael Hooper, chairman of the JCC. “The JCC aims to deliver a wide range of learning events for its members and guests and to provide the opportunity to hear first-hand about changes and initiatives within the business community on the Island. We are looking forward to working alongside the DED and helping them to deliver what they are hoping to achieve over the next 5 years."
