I’ve at last had an up-date from Billy Harris who is currently travelling Europe playing Futures events, He recently spent time in Belgium playing a total of seven events reaching the 2nd round in two main draws, has gained 6 ATP points and is ranked 1,200. He has also won a doubles tournament and is ranked 978 in doubles. Then it was on to France for 2 more events. In one he just lost in the main draw 1st round to a player ranked 350. Now it’s on to Munich for a couple more “cracks” at being a professional player. With Billy it’s a case of “Have racquet and camper van – will travel”. I’m sure all who know Billy will be wishing him all the best.
Juniors – don’t forget to send your entry in to Ian Watson for the Auxesia Junior Open. Entries close Tuesday 10 November at 6pm. Entry is ?3 per player per event. This tournament is open to non-members and our players would like to play matches against those from other clubs. So can we see some new faces at the club – they will be made very welcome.
