Race Night on Friday 20th November 7pm in the club lounge – the committee are appealing for support – either sponsoring a race, owner, trainer or jockey, attending on the night and/or selling tickets inclusive of supper, donating a raffle prize or helping to sell raffle tickets. Jan Gaskill is in charge of the raffle. If you want tickets then contact me on the above e-mail address or ask for a Race sheet and gain some support from family, friends or workmates.

I’ve at last had an up-date from Billy Harris who is currently travelling Europe playing Futures events, He recently spent time in Belgium playing a total of seven events reaching the 2nd round in two main draws, has gained 6 ATP points and is ranked 1,200. He has also won a doubles tournament and is ranked 978 in doubles. Then it was on to France for 2 more events. In one he just lost in the main draw 1st round to a player ranked 350. Now it’s on to Munich for a couple more “cracks” at being a professional player. With Billy it’s a case of “Have racquet and camper van – will travel”. I’m sure all who know Billy will be wishing him all the best.

Juniors – don’t forget to send your entry in to Ian Watson for the Auxesia Junior Open. Entries close Tuesday 10 November at 6pm. Entry is ?3 per player per event. Age groups are U8,U9,U10, U12 & U18 singles and U12 and U18 doubles. Entries can be e-mailed to ianwatsonpts@manx.net or put in the club’s post box in the club room. This tournament is open to non-members and our players would like to play matches against those from other clubs. So can we see some new faces at the club – they will be made very welcome.
