A major strategy dedicated to unlocking the potential for growth was the focus of Grant Thornton’s 2015 Global Conference, held in Greece last week.
More than 400 delegates from the accountancy firm’s international network of more than 130 firms gathered in Athens to hear about Growing Together 2020, a strategy which will be implemented alongside an innovative business model to promote growth for Grant Thornton’s clients, people and communities globally.
Dennis McGurgan, Managing Director of Grant Thornton in the Isle of Man, was among those to attend the conference.
He said: ‘Grant Thornton is a forward-looking organisation and Growing Together 2020 gives a clear strategy of how we can target and achieve growth. The Global Conference provided an opportunity to learn more about the exceptional experiences the strategy will deliver for our people and our clients.
‘The conference also discussed many other important issues, including the economic future of our host country Greece, and was a chance to catch-up with colleagues from around the world.’
Global CEO Ed Nusbaum opened the event that focused on how the Growing Together 2020 strategy will be implemented for Grant Thornton people and clients. There were also discussions about how Grant Thornton can increase its positive impact on the communities it operates.
The conference also looked at how to further increase collaborative initiatives among the international offices, as well as hosting a series of discussion groups looking at subjects including shaping client experience and risk management.
Mr McGurgan continued: ‘Grant Thornton’s ambition is growth, not just as a business, but also for its people, its clients and the places where we work. The Global Conference showed this isn’t just words; we have a plan to deliver on this ambition, identifying potential and achieving growth for our clients and Grant Thornton.’
