RTC 150th anniversary celebrations continue with WI choir concert

The Isle of Man Women’s Institute choir Mrrane ayns Araane are to sing on Sunday November 1 at St Olave’s Church, Ramsey as part of Ramsey Town Commissioners’ 150th anniversary commemorative concert series.

Mrrane ayns Araane was formed following an appeal for choirs to enter Singing for Joy, a UK-wide competition to find the WI Choir of the Year in the movement’s centenary year.

The choir, which is led by six-times Cleveland medal winner Karen Elliott, reached the finals held this March in Birmingham and also won the Manchester Manx Shield in this year’s Manx Music Festival.

Mrrane ayns Araane at St Olave’s Church, Ramsey, Sunday November 1 at 3pm. Admission free but a retiring collection in aid of the WI charity will be made.
