Appleby’s dedicated aviation team will attend the 2015 Dubai Airshow, one of the largest and most important aerospace events in the world.
Appleby Aviation Directors Sean Dowling and Brian Johnson will attend the four day event, from 8-12 November, to showcase their service offering, including the establishment and management of ownership structures and multi-jurisdictional VAT, tax and aircraft registration services.
The 2015 show is set to be one of the biggest yet, with more than 1,100 exhibitors from over 60 countries attending, 65,000 trade visitors anticipated and media representation from around the globe.
The purpose-built show site at Dubai World Central, adjacent to Al Maktoum International Airport, will host a display of more than 160 aircraft and among the new features will be a 3D Printshow, demonstrating the technology’s application in the aerospace manufacturing industry.
Brian said: ‘Against the global backdrop of economic turmoil, the Middle East remains a strong market for business aviation. In fact the latest Bombardier market forecast report predicts up to 400 business jets to be delivered in the region between 2015 and 2024, worth an estimated $15 billion in revenue.
‘The Dubai Airshow is the perfect place to promote the Isle of Man Aircraft Registry on the global stage and to capitalise on some of the growth opportunities this region has to offer. We are looking forward to meeting with our contacts there and to hearing more about the development of business aviation in the Middle East market and beyond.’
Appleby’s aviation team has grown rapidly since its launch in 2011, when Brian Johnson was appointed Director of Operations. Prior to his appointment, Brian was the Director of Civil Aviation for the Isle of Man, where he established the Island’s award-winning aircraft registry and positioned it as a world leader in offshore registries.
There are now some 15 specialists on the team, drawing on the skills and expertise from across the group’s legal and fiduciary departments around the globe. The high quality service has earned Appleby several accolades, including tier 1 ranking for Aviation in the Isle of Man in The Legal 500 Directory in both 2014 and 2015, and a ‘Special Achievement’ award from Corporate Jet Investor in 2012.
