A 27 year old youth worker has founded a new Manx charity aimed at young people.
Martin Macfarlane has created Youth Trust, with a website that he hopes will serve as an online resource for young people, parents and professionals.
Martin said: 'In today’s world we have to recognise that times have changed and I wish to play my part in retaining the Isle of Man as a nice and supportive place for young people to grow up, where they can be happy, enjoy life and prosper.
'Youth Trust shall develop and support projects that empower young people to lead healthy lifestyles and enable them to make informed decisions and choices about issues that affect their lives. In addition, we wish to become a leading organisation providing a voice on behalf of young people to representatives who can make a real difference on matters of concern to them.
'I’m very lucky to be supported by a diverse Board of professionals from marketing, governance and education who share similar views and a passion to give young people the best possible start in life.'
He wants the website - youth.im - to become the 'go to' place to find recreational activities, new opportunities and someone to talk to in a time of need.
Anyone who runs activities, courses or support services for young people can be listed on the website for free by visit youth.im and clicking on 'register an activity or service'.
