Places are still available for a new English test for foreign nationals wishing to apply for settlement in the Isle of Man or to be naturalised as a British Citizen. Applicants for both, and for certain other immigration categories, are required to meet a prescribed standard in speaking and listening in the English language.
The test can now be taken locally and the first one will be held at the Isle of Man College later this month, on 23 October 2015. The closing date for applications is this Friday, October 16, so they should be submitted as soon as possible.
Anyone who wants to enrol should go to https://ieltsukvisas.britishcouncil.org/, choose the Isle of Man as the place they wish to take the test and follow the steps to book one.
Further information can be found on the Immigration website at https://www.gov.im/categories/travel-traffic-and-motoring/immigration/news-and-updates-immigration/ or by contacting the Immigration Office in person or on 685203.
