Equality bill step closer

by isleofman.com 14th October 2015

The government says the majority of respondents to a public consultation on proposed equality legislation are 'generally supportive' of the move.

An Equality Bill will now be finalised before being introduced into the branches of Tynwald. The bill prohibits discrimination on the grounds of age, disability, gender, race, religion and sexual orientation. It also requires organisations to make reasonable adjustments to accommodate the needs of disabled people.

There were 70 responses to the consultation.
