A world-renowned coach who trained two high-achieving Olympians will deliver the annual Isle of Man Sport Lecture.
Jack Maitland will speak about “The Art of Endurance” at the Gaiety Theatre on Wednesday 18th November at 6pm.
Jack coaches brothers Alistair and Jonathan Brownlee, who won gold and bronze medals respectively at the 2012 Olympics in London.
Jack will share his story of the Leeds Triathlon Centre, detailing the long-term development of the athletes, the coaching and the programme they underwent.
Trevor Christian, Sports Coaching Co-ordinator for Isle of Man Sport, said: ‘The lecture will be relevant to sports enthusiasts, competitors, teachers and coaches. It is a great opportunity for anyone keen to learn about Jack’s experiences in taking junior athletes on a journey to Olympic success.’

Previous lectures have been delivered by such high-profile guests such as Olympian and journalist Matthew Syed and Jamil Qureshi, psychologist to golfer Rory McIlroy and the European Ryder Cup Team.
