A campaign has been launched to help combat break-ins.

A leaflet will be delivered to every household in the island, to coincide with the clocks going back, that offers advice on preventative steps to protect homes and property.

A police spokesman said: 'Considering the burglary series earlier this year the Constabulary is looking to heighten people’s awareness at this time rather than wait until darker nights upon us and the potential that more burglaries may occur.'
