Local authorities merger before Tynwald

by isleofman.com 9th October 2015

Infrastructure Minister Phil Gawne hopes to be able to present a merger between three local authorities to Tynwald for approval in December.

Over 80 local residents attended a public meeting this week to discuss the amalgamation of three rural authorities - Laxey, Lonan and Maughold - into a single authority, Garff.

Meanwhile, there is a final opportunity for residents to comment on the proposal. Views can be posted to 35 New Road, Laxey, or emailed to laxeycommissioners@manx.net before the deadline on Friday October 23.
