There were 765 persons registered as unemployed at the end of September 2015.
This is an decrease of 11 persons from the previous month (August 2015). However, when compared to the same time last year (September 2014) it is a decrease of 94 persons. It is the lowest September figure in four years and the lowest figure for registered unemployment since November 2010.
251 persons signed on to the unemployment register during the month; whilst 262 left the register.
69% of the unemployed are male (527) and 31% are female (238).
The unemployment rate remains at 1.7%; the rate is the proportion of economically active population registered as unemployed.
919 vacancies were notified to the Job Centre during the month.
At the end of September 521 positions were still vacant at the Job Centre; of these 64% were full-time positions (333) and 36% part-time (188).
