Appeal after woman assaulted and robbed at bus stop

Police are investigating a robbery which occurred at approximately 4:40pm on Wednesday 7th October 2015 at the junction of Main Road & Eyreton Road, Crosby.

The incident took place at the concrete bus shelter and it is known that the area was busy with traffic at this time. This resulted in a 20 year old woman being assaulted before she had her mobile phone taken from her; fortunately the female was not seriously injured.

A 27 year old male from Douglas has since been charged with Robbery and appeared at court on Thursday 8th October 2015.

Constable Mike Taylor said, “Although this man has been charged we are still investigating and enquiries are still ongoing. I would like to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the incident in particular the two occupants of a White builders van which stopped near to the scene. Anyone with any information can contact me at Castletown Police Station on 822222 or alternatively speak to any police officer. Alternatively you can give your information anonymously via Crime stoppers on 0800 555 111."
