Concerns over mental health services

by isleofman.com 8th October 2015

The Celtic League pressure group has written to health chiefs over the island's mental health services.

It follows concerns from Chief Constable Gary Roberts, who says in his annual report that his officers increasingly have to deal with vulnerable people and assist 'stretched' mental health facilities.

In a letter to Department of Health and Social Care chief executive Malcolm Couch, the Celtic League asks whether the department shares the Chief Constable's concerns and what steps are being taken to reinforce the mental health care system. It calls for support for mental health care professionals 'as a matter of urgency'.
