Fairy Tales at Ballasalla School

by isleofman.com 7th October 2015
Author and illustrator Vikki Orwin visited Ballasalla School recently to read her book “Jetmalew’s Island Adventures” to the children.

The story is about one of the “little people” at Fairy Bridge named “Jetmalew” who travels around the Island on his little motorbike looking for adventure. The activity fitted in perfectly with Woodland Class’s current topic of “Fairies and Giants”.

Vikki has thoroughly enjoyed working on her book and hopes that Jetmalew’s adventures will bring a lot of enjoyment to children. She will be signing copies of her book at Onchan Library this Saturday, 10th October.

Class teacher Jayne Mort said, “The children thoroughly enjoyed hearing about Jetmalew’s adventures and are eagerly awaiting the next story. They also enjoyed showing Vikki their own Fairy Grotto they have built in the classroom.”

Pupil, Lily, aged 5 said, “The pictures were bright and colourful and very neatly coloured in.”

Jetmalew’s Island Adventures is now available to buy at the Lexicon Bookshop, St Paul’s & Bridge Bookshop, Manx Museum, House of Manannan, Laxey Woollen Mill and W.H.Smith price ?6.99.
