Southern Generosity Nets over ?14,000 for Poppy Appeal

by isleofman.com 5th October 2015
Officials at the Port Erin Branch of The Royal British Legion are still getting over the shock of the amount of money raised during the last 12 months for the Poppy Appeal.

In total, ?14,057.06 has been sent on to the Poppy Appeal from the Port Erin Branch alone.

Anita Gunn, Poppy Appeal Organiser for the Port Erin Branch said, “I would like to thank my team of helpers who have made this possible, as well as Shoprite and all of the shops who had collection tins and those who supported Port Erin British legion events. It amounts to ?3.98 per head in Port Erin, but we know that it will have come from the Southern community generally. This all bodes well as the next Poppy Appeal year starts on the Island with the Poppy Appeal launch on 31 October.”
