Renowned Manx pianist Fenella Bazin and violinist Sue Green will be performing at the Erin Arts Centre on Saturday 10th October.
This will be their first duo recital together since forming during the Island of Culture initiative in 2014. They will be performing a demanding programme of works including two major sonatas by the English composers Elgar and Delius, rarely heard on the Isle of Man.
Sue Green said: "Fenella and I first met up when we were preparing a for a concert with Scherzando String Trio together during 2014 and then Fenella played continuo with Scherzando Strings later that year. Since then we have been meeting regularly, playing through the violin sonata repertoire that I know. It has been a pure pleasure to play with Fenella and we decided we should do a recital together at Erin Arts Centre. It was difficult at first to choose a programme from the many beautiful works for violin and piano but in the end we decided on two quintessentially English works plus some Norwegian music that Fenella introduced me to. And of course, some Mozart!”
The concert is supported by the Isle of Man Arts Council.
