Professional cycle racing returns

by isleofman.com 24th September 2015

For the first time since 2003, the Isle of Man is to host a professional cycling race.

The opening round of the 2016 Pearl Izumi Tour Series will take place here on Friday May 13. The event organisers have signed a three-year deal with Isle of Man Cyclefest.

The prestigious event, featuring nine professional teams and the UK's leading riders, will be the highlight of Cyclefest - three days of racing, cycling stunts, entertainments and cultural events based at Milntown in Ramsey.

Cyclefest organisers say: 'The addition of the televised Pearl Izumi Tour Series brings a large dose of incredible pro-peloton action and prestige to the streets of Ramsey.'
