Ramsey Town Commissioners are supporting Ramsey Methodist church’s harvest festival on Sunday October 4 which will celebrate the town’s businesses.
Methodist minister for the north of the island the Rev Andrew Emison, who says he has ‘never run a business but admires those who do’, explained: ‘At harvest time we give thanks to God for our food and agriculture, for our farmers, their work, and the risk that they bear on our behalf. In our towns, we also want to give thanks for our businesses. They provide employment and generate the wealth that we need for our wellbeing and for the provision of schools, hospitals and other services. Harvest is our time for remembering our dependence on each other and, Christians believe, on God.’
Ramsey Town Commissioners’ chairman Richard Radcliffe said: ‘Ramsey is known for its strong sense of community - and the business sector together with Ramsey Chamber of Commerce play a central role in that community. This harvest festival recognises the important contribution local businesses make to our town.’
The business harvest festival will be at 10.45am on Sunday October 4 at Ramsey Methodist Church, Waterloo Road.
