The Isle of Man’s only off-road triathlon, GraniteMann, is taking place this Sunday (27th September 2015) from 9:30am in and around Cringle Reservoir, and spectators are reminded that there are plenty of vantage points to take in the action.
The event is organised by The Children’s Centre and is once again sponsored by market-leading professional accountancy services firm, PwC Isle of Man. Solo competitors and teams will complete a 400m swim in the reservoir followed by a 10k mountain bike ride around the trails in the nearby plantation. The final challenge will be a scenic 5k cross-country run along the pathways.
As well as the stunning views, spectators can enjoy refreshments, soup and cakes while the race unfolds. Lisa Motley, Endurance Events Fundraiser at The Children’s Centre, said: ‘We are very grateful to PwC for sponsoring GraniteMann again this year. Thanks to their support, every penny raised will go towards the running costs of our initiatives, specifically Thriving Families, Community Farm and Out2Play. PwC’s generosity also means all entrants will receive a branded swimming cap and running vest in their goody bags.
‘We would encourage everyone to come down to support the event and those taking part – it should be a great day out.’
Ian Clague, Senior Partner at PwC Isle of Man, added: ‘We’re very pleased to be involved with this fantastic event again, organised by a charity which does such vital work in our community. We’ve also entered three teams, so no doubt they will be looking to place well!’
