A study has been commissioned to look at the current and potential future market for hotel accommodation in the Isle of Man.

A healthy hotel industry is vitally important to future tourism and economic growth in the Island. Specialist firm Hotel Solutions has been commissioned to undertake a detailed study of the Isle of Man’s hotel sector and its future potential.

David Cretney MLC, the Department of Economic Development’s political member with responsibility for the Visitor Economy said:

‘The study will be used to inform planning policy and decisions on hotel development and retention. It will also be used as the basis for developing a strategy with the intention of accelerating hotel investment in the Island.’

A key part of the study will be to research and assess the current performance of the Island’s hotels in terms of occupancy levels, seasonality, achieved room rates, key visitor markets, and levels of denied business.
