Three declare for Douglas East

by isleofman.com 21st September 2015

There are now three candidates eager to fill the House of Keys seat vacated by Brenda Cannell.

Mrs Cannell resigned for personal reasons after nearly 19 years as an MHK, following the sudden death of her husband Charlie.

The latest candidate to come forward is 57 year old Geraldine O'Neill, a language co-ordinator at St Ninian's High School and a teachers' union representative.

The other candidates are Clare Bettison, a nurse at Noble's Hospital, and former Douglas councillor Jon Joughin.
