The Government’s Occupational Health Service has been accredited as a Safe Effective Quality Occupational Health Service (SEQOHS) by the Faculty of Occupational Medicine, on behalf of the UK Royal College of Physicians.
The Occupational Health Service, which is part of the Department of Health and Social Care, provides specialist support to help employers across Government improve and maintain the health of staff.
The service was assessed against SEQOHS criteria including confidentiality, business integrity, records management, financial and asset control, skills and knowledge of staff, management of procedures and policies, accessible and safe facilities and equipment, customer focus and relationships with clients.
Minister for Health and Social Care, Howard Quayle MHK said: “The high standard of services delivered by our Occupational Health Service, and recognised by this accreditation, contribute not only to the health and wellbeing of the Department’s staff, but to all staff across Government.
“This accreditation recognises that the service has met a stringent set of independent standards. The service has been praised by SEQOHS assessors for their hard work, excellent range of information leaflets, and their comprehensive and wide ranging approach to auditing service quality. I add my thanks for the commitment and dedication of the staff and commend them being one of the first 150 Occupational Health Services to become SEQOHS accredited.”
