Local businessman Christian Cowley is putting his years of experience in the Isle of Man finance industry to good use following his appointment as Operations Director for Kreston Isle of Man.
Christian worked for several years in the local hotel and leisure industry before moving into the financial services sector. His previous roles include internal auditor for Isle of Man Post Office and Management Accountant at Barclays PLC in the UK – where he was seconded to the role of Finance Manager of Barclays Private Clients International, and later became an associate director responsible for finance and operational management over multiple jurisdictions for the bank’s offshore operations.
He was Financial Controller at prepaid card provider Transend Ltd, part of the Conister Group, and then Head of Finance at IOM Payroll and Service Provision Ltd. He became a director of Cowley Quirk Accountants in 2013.
Christian plays an active role in island life. He is treasurer of Manx Miracles and was chairman of the Barclays charity of the year committee, helping to raise ?100,000 for local charities during his time there.
