by isleofman.com 6th September 2015

The Manx Motor Cycle Club have announced that Senior Manx Grand Prix competitor David Taylor from Sheffield in Yorkshire has died following his accident at Brandywell, towards the end of last Friday’s race.

David, who had been made a special MGP Ambassador, had been coming to the Island to race from 1996 until 2012, following which, due to other commitments, he was unable to come back until this year.

Harvey Garton, Chairman of the MMCC adds:- “David was a well respected person and rider who was liked by all. David will be missed by all involved with the MGP and our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.”

Two other riders are still in critical condition, Peter Symes who came off at the 33rd mile stone in the same race as David, and French newcomer Yvan Cardona of Perpignan following an accident at Cruickshanks Corner in Ramsey on Monday evening.
