Handcuffed couple call for help

by isleofman.com 2nd September 2015

The Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service have released details of one of their more unusual days during this years 'Festival of Motorcycling'.

In addition to providing the usual fire cover in the pit lane a crew had to come to the rescue of two members of the public who had managed to handcuff themselves together the night before but then found that they had lost the key to free them!

Yesterday crews also had to use the TT access road to attend an incident in Willaston, this was the first time this has happened since not stationing an appliance inside the TT course.

Their busy Tuesday also saw them dealing with a fire in a field of cut hay which had the potential to spread rapidly and could have caused a great deal of damage if not brought under control quickly.

The service also report that one of the biggest problems they face is being able to get to the scene of a fire in narrow streets due to the number of parked cars limiting the space available.
