by isleofman.com 2nd September 2015
The winner of the 2015 Scottish Widows Peel Golf Club junior competition is 11-year-old Pheric Jansen, who finished on 42 points.

This year saw more than 40 young people enter the competition in near-perfect weather conditions.

At the prize giving the company, part of the Lloyds Banking Group and the competition’s sponsor since 1998, was represented by Paul Young and managing director Juan Clarke.

In presenting the company’s cup Mr Clarke said the company was proud of its long-standing association with Peel Golf Club and praised its committee for devoting so much time and effort to encouraging young people to realise their potential.

He added: ‘There’s a tremendous amount of talent in the junior section; clearly the committee, under the leadership of Brian Kelly, and these young players’ families are extremely supportive and together they’re doing a fantastic job.

‘I always enjoy coming to the club for this event and receive such a warm welcome from the young people and their parents. It’s a pleasure chatting to the members during the evening and hearing their stories and celebrating their achievements.

‘Congratulations to Pheric on winning the trophy and well done to everyone who took part.’
