Enterprise Isle

by isleofman.com 28th August 2015

The Isle of Man government has been looking to Dublin to gain advice on growing the Islands economy.

The visit follows the Chief Minister's announcement in July of the proposed ?50 million Enterprise Development Fund, the initiative designed to boost the Manx economy.

Talking about his trip Allan Bell said, 'As we look towards detailed implementation of the EDF and the Enterprise Isle package we must ensure that we do the job properly. In engaging with our neighbours to the west, we have been able to draw on the relationship we have built with the Irish Government through the British-Irish Council.'

It was back in 2012 that Mr Bell announced he was looking to turn the whole Island into an enterprise zone and his government was committed to promoting innovation and entrepreneurialism.

Last August Minister Skelly signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with UK Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster which was aimed at maximising trade and investment opportunities between the Isle of Man and Northern Ireland.
