Sir John Hurt visit

by isleofman.com 27th August 2015

Sir John Hurt has been confirmed as the special guest star at the Isle of Man Film Festival this year when he takes to the Gaiety Theatre stage to talk to Manx film critic Mark Kermode.

Sir John is probably best known for his appearances in Elephant Man, Alien and The Naked Civil Servant. But, back in 1998 he filmed 'All the little animals' on the Isle of Man with the then relatively still unknown actor Christian Bale.

Film festival organiser Zoe Guilford says, ‘We’re really excited that Sir John is joining us for the festival this year, it’s a measure of how highly the Isle of Man is thought of in the film industry.'

‘The evening promises to be a real audience pleaser so we suggest anyone interested keeps an eye on our website www.isleofmanfilmfestival.com to see when the tickets – priced ?10 - go on sale.’
