“Hey You Guys!” – The Goonies comes to the Isle of Man

by isleofman.com 25th August 2015

In the words of hero Mikey, “Goonies never say die” and Island film fans will get the chance to see this family friendly classic 1985 comedy adventure film at 8pm on Wednesday 9 September under the stars at the Douglas Head amphitheatre.

This special 30th anniversary screening of the cult classic marks the opening night of the 2015 Isle of Man Film Festival, and the event comes with a twist - a ?5 hire charge provides the audience with their own ‘silent disco’ style headphones to make sure none of those memorable lines are missed. And, as its rating is certificate 12, you can even bring your children. Refreshments come from a variety of local producers including Betty’s Trailer and Apple Orphanage and the organisers suggest you wrap up warm and check the forecast – it will go ahead even if it rains.

Headsets – limited to just 100 – can be reserved at www.iomgoonies.eventbrite.co.uk or check out the 'tickets' page on www.isleofmanfilmfestival.com
