The position of Lieutenant Governor of the Isle of Man becomes vacant next April when Adam Wood, pictured being sworn in five years ago, retires from the role.
Applications are now being invited to find his replacement. The appointment is made by the Queen and candidates must have a distinguished record of Crown, public or other relevant service at the highest level.
The Manx government says the role includes promoting the island's interests at public and social events, representing the Queen on ceremonial occasions and hosting Royal and VIP visits at Government House, as well as taking a 'proactive' approach to the relationship between Government House, the government and the public.
