The Isle of Man Creamery has been awarded yet another accolade for its Vintage Cheddar Cheese. Adding to May’s silver medal at the British Cheese Award they have received further recognition at the International Cheese Show which took place in Nantwich, England.
The annual awards represent a prestigious day on the industry’s calendar. This year it marked its 118th event with what proved to be its biggest yet; a record breaking 4,615 entries from 31 countries competed in over 300 categories. The UK Cheddar Cheese class is one the most popular of these categories and it was in this that the Isle of Man Creamery won a Highly Commendable Certificate from the judges for its Vintage Cheddar.
Managing Director Findlay Macleod spoke of the creamery’s continued recognition and noted: “at times of pressure in the dairy industry, our focus has to continue on quality products that people will pay a premium for. To us, this accolade justifies our continued efforts in maintaining the highest possible standards across all of our products, so it’s rewarding to see our Vintage Cheddar is appreciated by both the public and critics alike.”
This marks yet another case of recognition on an international stage for the Vintage Cheddar which can be found on shelves of retailers as far as the USA and was even served to Business and First Class passengers on Emirates Airlines flights leaving the UK.
