Students at King William’s College have again achieved excellent results in their GCSEs/IGCSEs. The highlights were as follows:
• 44% of all exams awarded A* or A grades.
• 93% of all exams awarded A* - C grades.
• 11 students achieved straight A*/As or were within one grade of doing so.
• Seth Aycock gained 11 A*s.
• Third largest Year 11 cohort in the history of the College.
Joss Buchanan the Vice Principal commented:
“This is one of our best ever sets of results and given the size of the year group the achievement is all the more impressive. There were some fantastic results at the top end but the College is a broad church and it was very pleasing to see individual success stories throughout the entire ability range. It all promises much as the year group now embarks upon the IB Diploma in the Sixth Form.”
Martin Humphreys the Principal commented:
“This is excellent news, particularly for such a large cohort. Moreover, with two thirds of grades being IGCSEs rather than GCSEs it is very pleasing to see that results have actually improved since we made the move to the more rigorous qualification several years’ ago. This all comes on the back of some outstanding IB results earlier in the Summer and I hope that this GCSE cohort will be inspired to emulate that success in two years’ time. It’s all about the students’ hard work, but it is also about individual teaching and I would like to thank all my teaching colleagues for their dedication and hard work.”
