Glashtyns will be under fire when the final matches in the Manx Premier League are played on Sunday at Crosby.
The team has already won the league, but should face a fierce onslaught from sides out to halt their supremacy.
Ollie Webster’s squad has recorded seven victories from eight games and four of those were by a margin of nine wickets.
Webster himself is the Island’s leading run scorer with a total of 616 of which 256 have come in the MPL at an average of 51.
Also in the Glashtyn’s powerful line-up are Island skipper Phil Littlejohns and Dan Hawke, who at ?26,000 is the most expensive player in the tournament.
The other sides are determined to halt Glashtyn’s dominance with Manannans probably having the best chance. They are the only team to defeat the leaders and their clash on Sunday should be exciting.
Skipper Mark Williams can call on Danny Kniveton, the second highest run scorer so far this season. His total of 588 has come at an average of over 49 and he will be playing on his home ground. There should be plenty of local support to cheer him on.
Also in the squad is Adam McAuley who has made 351 runs at an average of over 50 and Island players Akkie van den Berg and Adam Killey.
Bugganes won their final match in the last round and will be looking for more points. The batting has relied heavily on Pete Lewis (226 runs at 46), but Max Stokoe, Chris Hawke and Garreth Roome are all in form.
The games, starting at 10.30am, 1.30pm and 4.30pm, should provide a festival of entertaining T20 cricket.
