The Albany Chrystals Senior Open Finals day was a busy and successful day for Hannah Snidal who featured in three finals.
Due to the inclement weather the day started with one match at a time in the club’s invaluable indoor court. Hanna and Katie Harris won the women’s doubles title beating Kirsten Hall and Jackie Russell 6/2 6/0. After a break Hannah was back on the outdoor court in the women’s singles final against her doubles partner Katie Harris. This was a very good match with Hannah eventually winning 6/4 6/3. In Hannah’s third match – the mixed doubles – partnered by Stewart Swann proved to make it triple titles with a 6/2 6/3 win over Tim Davies and Kirsten Hall. This again was a good match and closer than the score suggests. Meanwhile the men were also busy. In the men’s singles Craig Blackwell beat Adam Pyatt-Coppell 6/3 6/2. In the men’s doubles Alex Stokoe and Stewart Swann beat Adam Pyatt-Coppell and Calvin Smith 6/4 3/6 (10-6) in a very close match. The men’s group 1 final was played during the week with Tim Davies beating Sasha Thomas 7/5 6/3. Remaining results from earlier in the week – men’s singles Main Draw q/f David Bufton bt Sasha Thomas 6/1 6/3, s/f Craig Blackwell bt Tim Davies 6/3 6/2, Adam Pyatt-Coppell bt David Bufton 6/2 6/1. men’s Doubles s/f Stokoe/Swann bt N Wait/O Wait 6/0 6/1, Pyatt Coppell/Smith bt Bufton/Davies 6/4 4/6 (10-8).
