No contest in Ramsey

by isleofman.com 11th August 2015

One nomination has been received in each of two wards in Ramsey to replace the commissioners who were forced to stand down because they weren't on the electoral register.

Businessman Pat Ayres wants to represent the town's south ward, while former security officer Christopher Mayers has submitted nomination papers for north ward.

Nominatons closed yesterday (Monday) evening and the local authority's returning officer will examine the papers at 2pm today. If elected, the two men will serve as town commissioners until April 2016.
