Ramsey RNLI launched to assist broken down leisure fishing vessel

by isleofman.com 10th August 2015
Ramsey RNLI lifeboat, the RNLB Ann & James Ritchie, was launched yesterday morning, Sunday 9 August, to go to the assistance of a broken down leisure fishing vessel.

The 37-foot vessel’s engine had lost oil due to a broken pipe and was situated about 8 miles east-north-east of Ramsey, just off the Bahama Bank. There were four people on board, none were injured or in any immediate danger.

Having ascertained that the fault could not be easily repaired the lifeboat took the vessel safely in to tow back to Ramsey Harbour.

Ramsey’s Mersey class all-weather lifeboat returned to station, was rehoused and ready for service once again by 13:15.
