Gush Multimedia Arts (GMA) Ltd is part of the Gush Multimedia Group of companies, and the latest in a succession of Chinese companies to set up in the Isle of Man following a campaign by the Department of Economic Development over the past 3 years to attract business from the region.
The company is significant in that the parent company and management have decades of experience in documentary and educational film production in China.
They are now pioneering ‘3D live action films’ including exciting new interactive hologram productions which they believe will soon revolutionise children’s theatre experience under their ‘Colour Panda’ brand and which they hope to bring to Europe in the near future.
Mr Zhao, President of the Gush Group in China said:
‘Having visited the Isle of Man two years ago, we enjoyed such a warm welcome that it was always in my mind to establish something in the Isle of Man.
‘The Department of Economic Development has maintained its interest in encouraging us to do this throughout this time. I am delighted we have now managed to take this first step towards establishing our activities and brands in Europe.’
Minister for Economic Development Laurence Skelly said:
‘We are delighted with this decision by Mr Zhao and Gush Multimedia to establish a company in the Isle of Man.
‘There have also been other new business incorporations from China this year, including several involving successful Tier 1 visa applications enabling individuals to invest substantial sums in the Island’s economy. While some of these businesses are relatively low key so far, we ultimately hope these will grow and create significant employment.
‘My Department has been actively promoting the Isle of Man in China for several years now and it is clear that it takes time to build the relationships and trust needed for Chinese businesses to establish here. As in this example, we know their enthusiasm has been heightened by the recent visit to China by the Chief Minister, so demonstrating our sincerity and commitment to this market.’
The company has appointed local firm ILS as its Corporate Service Provider in the Isle of Man and ILS Group CEO Chris Eaton said:
‘We have invested considerable effort in the Chinese market over the past eight years and are very pleased to have been chosen by Gush Multimedia to assist them with setting up in the Isle of Man.’
