A single vehicle RTC resulted in the Mountain Road being shut yesterday afternoon.

At approximately 3.30pm emergency services attended to reports of a car which had left the road and ended up 20 metres down the hillside, 500 metres on the Douglas side of Windy Corner.

The driver and passenger required rescuing and were subsequently transported to Nobles Hospital for treatment for the injuries sustained as a result of the impact.

The IOMFRS, police and paramedics worked closely together in very difficult conditions in affecting a speedy rescue of the casualty.

The IOMFRS thanked the members of public who assisted at the scene.

At the time of the condition of both occupants is unknown.
