IMS gets seal of approval from ISO audit

by isleofman.com 5th August 2015
Integrated Mailing Solutions (IMS), specialist communications division of Isle of Man Post Office is pleased to announce that it has been recertified for its two International Standards Organisation (ISO) accreditations for a further three years by external assessors Lloyds Registry Quality Assurance (LRQA).

In 2014, IMS transitioned to ISO/IEC 27001:2013, the recognised data security standard which was awarded for its range of services including: mail opening, scanning, data capture, printing, fulfilment, franking and stationery supply. Meanwhile, in 2011 it was successful in achieving ISO/IEC 9001:2008 - the international, most established quality framework which sets the standard not only for quality management systems, but management systems in general.

Accrediting body LRQA conducted a rigorous and thorough audit of IMS to ensure its continuing compliance to the standards required by the ISO before awarding its recertification of these for a further three years.

Since its establishment, IMS has grown to become a successful mailing house with an extensive local and international client base.

IMS has worked hard to achieve and maintain its two ISO standards which are critical to the success of the business and services it provides to its customers. As well as a full and thorough audit of the systems to ensure processes are both correct and adhered to, every staff member is also examined on their compliance at regular intervals.

Peter Cropper, Isle of Man Post Office Operations Director said: “I’m pleased to announce that IMS has successfully completed its recent audit for ISO/IEC 27001:2013 and ISO/IEC 9001:2008. The two ISO standards are essential to the business and their award is dependent upon the excellent work of every IMS staff member. I would like thank everyone for their hard work and dedication for successful completion of this project.”

Mr Cropper continued: “We understand that these accreditations are the prerequisite standards for many of our customers, which is why we invest so much time and resource in achieving and, where possible, exceeding them.”
