Reception for Douglas Carnival winners, sponsors and supporters

The Mayor of Douglas Sara Hackman has hosted a reception for Douglas Carnival winners, sponsors and supporters.

More than 50 people gathered in the Council chamber to hear the mayor thank everyone involved for contributing to what was a ‘highly successful community event’.

Winners of the Bins of Glory wheelie bin race were ‘Bin and Gone’ made up of team members Luke Eastaff (aka ‘Mario’), Daniel McMahon (aka ‘Luigi’ and Stephanie Ruane (aka ‘Princess Peach’. Luke said: ‘It was fantastic fun and we’re already thinking of ideas for next year.’

Other winners included:

Best Dressed Float: ‘Amaizeing Milk Float’ from Silly Moos, sponsored by the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company;

2nd place: Segway Isle of Man;

3rd place: ‘Soldiers through the Ages’ from the Royal British Legion, Douglas branch;

Best Dressed Bicycle: RL360 cycling team, sponsored by the Donut Factory;

Best Dressed Car: John Davis in his green Mini, sponsored by Kestrel Insurance;

Best Dressed Motorcycle: Isle of Man Trike Tours, sponsored by Manx Business Reviews;

Best Classic/Vintage Vehicle: Manx Transport Trust and Marks & Spencer, sponsored by On The Rocks;
