Albany Lawn Tennis News

by isleofman.com 30th July 2015
The IOMLTA Mixed Doubles leagues get underway next week with Albany A v Castletown A on Monday 3 August at 7pm.

So it will be busy at the club with the Chrystals Senior Open also running next week. The club’s B team will start their campaign with a visit to Douglas B on Thursday 6th. The following week sees the A team v Douglas A at Kensington Road and our B team hosting Castletown C. All home matches start at 7pm and the format only requires courts 2 and 3 for the fixture. So except for next week there should always be one outdoor court and the indoor court available for members.

Many congratulations to our Treasurer, David Bufton and his wife Jodie on the safe arrival of their baby daughter Seren, last week. A sister for Gethin and Rhys and hopefully David will be putting her name down for Mini Tennis.

Entries were slow coming in for the Albany Chrystals Senior Open which starts on Saturday. Finals Day will be Sunday 9 August and to add to an already busy week Albany will have a team at Castletown for the annual Todmorden Shield on Saturday (8th) This is a triangular match between the Albany, Castletown and Ramsey clubs hosted in turn by each club. If any members are down south a week on Saturday call in and give our team some support.
