The Children’s Centre is recruiting two managers to play a vital role in putting children, young people and families first by providing services which benefit the whole community. The charity has vacancies for a Fundraising and Communications Manager, and a Community Farm and MOBEX Manager.
Over 40% of children on the Island use services provided by the charity, including nursery and pre-school care, and early intervention schemes. But to run these and many other services for children, families and young people costs more than ?20,000 per week, and fundraising initiatives play a vital role in meeting this target. The Fundraising and Communications Manager will initiate, manage and monitor projects and campaigns aimed at securing sustainable, long-term funding for the charity.
The Community Farm (based at Wallberry Farm on the Old Castletown Road) and MOBEX projects enable children, young people and families to reconnect with the countryside. Using the outdoor environment, both of these projects offer a broad programme of positive therapeutic and educational experiences to help build the potential of all those who engage with the service. MOBEX initiatives use activities such as kayaking, abseiling, rock climbing, and coasteering to allow young people to gain confidence and learn valuable life skills. The Community Farm and MOBEX Manager will take the lead role in the development, co-ordination and sustainability of both of these projects.
