The staff at Glenroyd care home in Ramsey, supporting individuals with learning disabilities, are extremely proud to receive news of winning two individual awards and one team award in the 2015 Praxis Care staff awards.

Staff at Glenroyd are delighted to scoop the unprecedented three awards for staff excellence. Wendy Green, Manager was awarded the Exceptional Leadership award, Hannah Cowin, Apprentice Support Worker was awarded the Apprentice of the Year award and the staff team were awarded the Health Improvement award.

The Health Improvement award was awarded as the staff team have been vigilant and dedicated in ensuring that all Service Users health has remained good and they have been treated appropriately when any illnesses have occurred. They have also taken responsibility for educating a Service User to choosing healthy desserts and taking another Service User on long walks. Both Service Users and staff have been attending an annual flu jab clinic which has had positive results.

Praxis Care is now in their 8th year of running a staff awards scheme. The awards scheme is mostly based upon staff and managers nominating an individual or team for an award, however there is one award that is based upon Service Users or carers nominating a team for an award. There are five individual awards and seven team awards to be presented throughout Praxis Care’s staff across Ireland, England and the Isle of Man.

Each staff member has a unique role to play in delivering our vision, regardless of where they work. I would like to offer my congratulations to Wendy, Hannah and the staff team for winning the awards”.
