Boogie Woogie at the Villa Marina

by isleofman.com 24th July 2015

The Villa Marina was packed last night for Jools Holland and his 20-piece rhythm and blues orchestra.

The UK's most popular pianist and bandleader was back on the Isle of Man, this time with Melanie C - or Sporty Spice - as his special guest. Mark Flanagan, a regular guitarist with Jools performed a short individual set of songs. There was also an outstanding drum solo by Gilson Lavis and great performances from female vocalists Louise Marshall, Mabel Ray and, the highlight of the night, Ruby Turner.

Thanks to Dave Moncaster from Port st Mary for this photo of Jools Holland at last night's performance.
