Big day for choristers

by isleofman.com 22nd July 2015

Choristers from Peel Cathdral met the Princess Royal during her visit to the Isle of Man.

Princess Anne is the patron of the cathedral's ?10million renovation project. She attended a service of thanksgiving, that included music from the cathedral choir and choristers, and read a lesson.

Princess Anne was also brought up to date on progress. In the next few weeks the cloister (Apple Tunnel) should be constructed around the foundation stone she laid in what is the 13th century abbey garden. This garden is one of a series that track the engagement of Christianity with Manx culture since the 5th century.

A new entrance is being put on the Corrin Hall with disabled access ad new windows shortly to be installed.
