Manx Blind Welfare Society, which looks after the interests of more than 600 people with serious sight loss on the Isle of Man, will be at this weekend’s Southern District Agricultural Show.
Staff and volunteers will be on hand to explain the support and services offered to blind and visually impaired people in the Island by the Society and partner organisations.
You will also be able to find out how you can get involved in the Society’s vital work through volunteering and fundraising.
The Society’s Southern Show stand will also be selling the all-new 2016 calendar, which features stunning photographs of the Isle of Man. The calendar costs just ?5, with all proceeds going towards supporting the Society, which relies entirely upon fundraising, donations and legacies for its services.
Manx Blind Welfare Society Volunteers Coordinator & Events Organiser Debbie Thomson said: ‘The Southern Show is one of the highlights of the Island’s community calendar, and a wonderful opportunity for the Society to explain more about the services and support it offers blind and visually impaired people in the Isle of Man.
‘This is an opportunity to have an informal chat about the assistance we could offer if you, or someone you know, has a visual impairment, as well as a chance to find out about how rewarding and fulfilling volunteering with the Society is.
‘We’d invite all visitors to the show to drop by our stand to find out about our work, have a look at our new calendar or just have a chat.’
The Southern Show takes place at Great Meadow in Castletown on 25th and 26th July.
