The finals of the Albany Equiom Junior Open tournament were concluded on Saturday with some excellent matches – with the U12 mixed singles being the longest with Roch Mirski eventually beating Jack Christian. Orry Farnworth (7yrs) was awarded the Best performance medal for winning both the U8 and U9 mixed singles.

The girls have it tough – as there are fewer girls playing tennis they play in the mixed age groups with the boys. So all credit to Charlotte Clarke as runner-up to Jayden Go in the U10 mixed singles.

Last week’s Strawberry Coffee Morning raised ?132.45 for the Manx Breast Cancer Support Group. Thanks to everyone who supported the event.

Club Coach, Ian Watson, has arranged a full programme of Junior Summer Holiday tennis camps. Starting Monday 3 August, with sessions each day for different age groups. Mondays 10-am-2pm 11 –18 yrs, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays Red ball 9.30-11am and Orange/Green ball 1-3pm. To book a place ring Ian (496293) or e-mail ianwatsonpts@manx.net.  Full details also on the club website and facebook. You can go every day, once a week or just during one week. Talk to Ian for the best options. Suitable sport clothing and tennis trainers are required, racquets can be provided. Don’t forget to take a drink.
