Lions Club help bring school minibus a step closer

by isleofman.com 13th July 2015
Kewaigue Primary School pupils have received a very generous donation of ?1500 from the Isle of Man Lions Club. This represents a welcome boost for the school’s appeal to raise money for a minibus for the 135-pupil school.

Adrian Shorthouse, Head teacher, said, "PC Patrick Moore works closely with the school in his community liaison role and approached the Lions Club on our behalf. We were delighted that the Lions Club agreed the donation which brings us very close indeed to the school’s Friends’ Association target of ?25,000."

President of the Isle of Man Lions Club, Eric Callister, said: "The Isle of Man Lions Club are pleased to be able to donate this money from our Manx Children in Need Appeal funds to help the school reach their target to buy the mini bus. Worthwhile projects such as this are in need of support and I’m sure that the general public will feel the same and they can donate to the school minibus appeal by contacting the school office on 673951."
