Tram back on track

by isleofman.com 8th July 2015

An overturned electric tram was lifted back on to the track in a two hour recovery operation last night.

Transport authorities closed the main road through Laxey to carry out what they described as a complex operation using a crane.

The tram was derailed yesterday morning just north of Laxey MER station during a routine operational shunt. An investigation has been launched.

Tram services between Laxey and Ramsey are expected to resume today after safety checks of both the track and the overhead lines.
